    Updated information Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Dear parents and carers You may be aware that yesterday the government announced a change in its approach to managing the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). Please see the updated links below for accurate information. We have also included a new link with advice for people who need to stay at home. For anyone with; • a new continuous cough and/or • a high temperature the government guidance below says ‘if you have symptoms of coronavirus infection (COVID-19), however mild, stay at home and do not leave your house for 7 days from when your symptoms started’. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance/stay-at-home-guidance-for-people-with-confirmed-or-possible-coronavirus-covid-19-infection If this applies to your child their absence will be authorised due to the exceptional circumstances. Our staff will be following the same guidance which may lead to some disruption but we will keep you well informed of any necessary changes. Our main priority at this time is to help keep pupils, staff and the community as safe and healthy as possible and concentrate on our core business of education. This is likely to lead to the cancellation of some activities which are not completely necessary. The year 1 and 2 discos scheduled for Thursday 19th March are now cancelled and at this point we are deferring the year 1 Easter concert until further notice. The church walk will also be cancelled but the service will take place in school for the children. We appreciate your support through this challenging time and would like to reassure parents that we will continue to diligently follow the advice and direction from both GOV.UK and Public Health England. Stay at home guidance: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance/stay-at-home-guidance-for-people-with-confirmed-or-possible-coronavirus-covid-19-infection Latest information and advice: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public NHS common questions about coronavirus: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/common-questions/ Department for Education advice for schools: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-to-educational-settings-about-covid-19/guidance-to-educational-settings-about-covid-19 Good hygiene practices continue to be reinforced in school and cleaning methods remain under constant review to ensure they are as effective as possible in minimising spread of all types of potential infection. World Book Day - Class Door Photographs
Dear parents and carers The children had a thoroughly enjoyable World Book Day yesterday and it was lovely to see them all either dressed in their favourite book costumes or bringing along something that represented a favourite book. Below are some photos of the class doors which all of the children worked extremely hard on and are very rightly proud of. The winner was Foxes Class with the book 'Spinderella' which they also linked to their Maths learning. Well done Foxes class! We've also attached a couple of pictures from the new mural in our Reading Corridor; the result of some very hard work by a year 11 Southfield School student, whose mum works at Millbrook. She's done a brilliant job and we would like to extend our thanks to her - I'm sure you'll agree that it looks absolutely fantastic! And just to round things off - a big thank you to YOU, the amazingly generous parents, carers, siblings, extended families and friends who have now raised a grand total of £1800 for new books. Kind regards Millbrook Infant School Office
